For the execution of our research – the discovery of quantum materials – we need a cryostat that allows for measurements with a high-precision of the resistivity and specific heat by a relaxation technique (with a minimum resolution of 10 nJ/K at 2 K) in a temperature range between 2 K to 400 K (temperature must be continuously changeable during measurements, and it has to be possible to stabilize each temperature) and in a magnetic field range between -9 T and +9 T, with a continuously changeable field that (also can be stabilized) with a high precision and changed with at least 200 G/sec. The necessary temperature stability has to be at least 0.2% for T < 20 K or 0.05% for T > 20 K. Samples between 2 mg and 0.5 g should be measurable. The system has to be user-friendly, meaning that a click-and-drop interface at a computer allows for the programming of measurement sequences. The system has to be expandable to allow for (i) magnetization measurements using the vibrating sample magnetometry technique allowing for direct current and alternating current magnetization measurements in the whole temperature range (with a sensitivity of at least 5x10-7 emu or 0.5%, whatever is larger, also it has to be possible for the user to set frequency and amplitude of the VSM vibration), (ii) as well as there has to be an extension that can be bought that allows for measurements down to 40 mK (dilute fridge) and one that allow for measurements down to 350 mK (3He). The device has to be cryogenic-free in operation with low consumption of helium gas, as in the building where it has to be placed no Helium recovery is available. These specifications in terms of measurement possibilities and being cryogenic free are crucial. If these specifications cannot be met, our research cannot be performed. The necessary specifications can only be met by one machine on the market. No other machine available on the market reaches the necessary precision and variability of the measurement techniques.
