Swissgrid currently uses a Wide Area Monitoring System, which integrates a Phasor Data Concentrator (PDC). It gathers the data streams from various Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) placed in the Continental European transmission grid into time-aligned datasets.
In order to compare the functionalities of the existing systems and the current requirements of Swissgrid with software solutions available on the market, Swissgrid conducts a market survey of wide area monitoring systems for the replacement of the current system.
